Methodist Rehabilitation Center opted not to submit the application for a renewal of the TBI Model System of Mississippi in 2007 and we are currently under a no-cost extension to complete dissemination activities. We are funded to continue a submission of the follow-up data to the TBI National Data Centerthrough 2011.
The primary goals of TBIMSM:

- Conduct research to provide state-of-the-art knowledge that will improve treatment and service delivery to persons with TBI.
- Participate in the TBI Model System National Database by contributing data on persons with TBI from the state of Mississippi.
- Disseminate research findings and other information regarding TBI to persons with TBI, family members, healthcare professionals, researchers, and others in formats that are user-friendly for the consumers.
- Collaborate with local agencies such the Brain Injury Association of Mississippi, the Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities, the Department of Rehabilitation Services of the State of Mississippi, and others to carry out these goals.
